This publication is a compilation of various research papers, on how Judaism and Christianity have developed from antiquity to the modern period. It therefore has two main parts; topics on Judaism and those on Christianity. The topics on Judaism looks at the Hasmonean period and the others focus on the impact of modernity on modern Judaism especially with respect to the concept of the Torah, women and intellectual development in Judaism. The first topic on Christianity looks at why the Old Testament was included in the Christian canon. The others deal with the persecution and martyrdom of the Christians while the next centers on the qualification for baptism in the early church; with interest in women, children and slaves. The final article discusses the role of women in the ministry of Jesus.
