Areport by a WHO study group identified "diabetic foot" as an independent disease. Diabetic footsyndrome (DFS) is a pathological condition of the feet of apatient with DM, which occurs against the background of lesions of peripheral nerves, vessels, skin and soft tissues, bones and joints and creates conditions for the formation of acute and chronic ulcers, bone and joint lesions andpurulent-necrotic processes.
