Fractures of the midface pose a serious medical problem as for their complexity, frequency and their socio-economic impact. Le Fort fractures constitute a pattern of complex facial injury that occurs secondary to blunt facial trauma. The most common mechanisms of injury for these fractures, which are frequently associated with drug and alcohol use, include motor vehicle collisions, assault, and falls. Interdisciplinary approaches and up-to-date diagnostic and surgical techniques provide favourable results in the majority of cases though. This book includes all aspects of mid-face fractures. So, we aim to provide a comprehensive information about diagnosis and treatment of midface fractures which may be a complete and useful guideline for trauma surgeons.
