The quest for excellent maintenance is a goal pursued by various productive sectors of society and is also a relevant issue in the academic environment. It is no longer satisfactory to carry out good maintenance; there needs to be planning, quality, firmness and cost reduction, with the aim of making it efficient, maximising the conservation of equipment and improving the control of expenditure on assets. With this in mind, the aim of this end-of-course work is to evaluate the maintenance function in the asset management process of a sweets manufacturer, in order to identify opportunities for implementing improvements in the company.

Rafael da Mata Oliveira Souza è un ingegnere meccanico con una laurea in scienze e tecnologie conseguita presso l'Università Federale di Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), Brasile. Ha svolto un tirocinio nel dipartimento di manutenzione di un'azienda alimentare di Rio Grande do Norte ed è stato uno studente di iniziazione scientifica nel progetto di sviluppo scientifico e tecnologico in metrologia presso l'UFRN.
