Research presented to the Nursing School of Coimbra to obtain a Master's degree in Child Health Nursing and Pediatrics, under the supervision of Dr. Manuel Gameiro (Coordinating Professor of the Nursing School of Coimbra). My personal thanks go to the Adolescents and their Parents for their willingness to collaborate with me and make it possible to carry out this research by sharing their experiences of cancer. My heartfelt gratitude goes to Dr. Professor Manuel Gameiro for sharing his knowledge, encouragement, guidance and availability throughout the research process. To my parents, godparents and extended family for their tolerance in times of tiredness and constant encouragement, without forgetting my colleagues at the Pediatric Oncology Service of the Coimbra Pediatric Hospital.

Autor

Master's Degree and Specialist in Child Health Nursing and Pediatrics. She worked at the Centro Hospitalar e Universitário de Coimbra - Hospital Pediátrico de Coimbra, Pediatric Oncology service from 2011 to 2017, where she provided nursing care to children and adolescents with oncological and hematological pathologies.
