The book describes the usage of an optical method to measure the rate of substances' removal from the blood during dialysis, thus the ability to monitor the dialysis quality. The advantage of the method over the existing ones is the ability to monitor the treatment continuously and directly, without any additional data about the patient. The sensor itself is connected to the drain output of the dialysis machine with dialysate passing through its optical cell.
