Rasheeda Pilgrim is a New York state certified school administrator from Brooklyn, New York. As a child, Rasheeda loved to read and write stories. She dreamed of one day creating books of her own that others could read. Rasheeda was inspired to write this book she noticed her students had limited access to books with characters who looked like them. She hopes this book will be in hands of many little black girls and boys around the world. Her books were written to inspire and affirm children of color.
