Diamonds on the Water is a beautiful, enchanting, yet heartbreaking love story. Growing up in the hills of West Virginia during the Great Depression, 15-year-old Annie is forced to quit school and take on the role of caregiver. To help her parents and seven siblings, she moves to the city to earn money. Annie lives with her aunt while helping care for her sick uncle. Even though she is able to aid her family financially, she continues to feel guilty about them struggling back home. Life with her wealthy aunt and uncle exposes her to a more majestic side of life. Annie goes back to school to finish her education, inherits her uncle's sailboat, meets a young man named Michael, and experiences a period of hopeful triumph. Annie fulfills her childhood dreams of sailing, finding God's handiwork when she discovers Diamonds on the Water. After tragedy strikes Annie's family back in West Virginia, she is again plunged into the caregiver role by taking responsibility for her siblings. The loss of loved ones haunts Annie's happiness and takes a toll on her sanity. Will this selfless young girl ever find her happy ending?
