Having barely survived his first journey through the brutal and unforgiving world of the Territories, Joe Kott must once again pierce the veil between the two worlds if he hopes to save the people he has come to know and care for. But as perilous as his first trip had been, it might not prove enough to get him through again. Not without the help of a dangerously gifted 12-year-old girl named Tine and a few other good souls he meets along the way. But if he manages to survive, Joe may finally bring balance to his life and peace to the Territories once and for all.

Autorenporträt
Paul VanDorn was born and raised in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood on the city's south side. In the summer of 1982, Paul was stabbed and left to die at a bus stop in Chicago's West Lawn neighborhood, and that is where his story would have ended if not for being found by a couple coming home from a late movie date at the Ford City movie theater. By the grace of God, Paul survived his severe injuries and was released from the hospital several months later. Having missed a third of his senior year, Paul never graduated high school. Instead, he opted to obtain a General Educational Development diploma and joined the workforce. Between the ages of 17 and 30, Paul worked as a steel fabricator, a construction worker, a customer service representative, and a machine operator before landing on a career in law enforcement. Paul spent the next 25 years of his life as a patrol officer and a detective in one of the city's western suburbs. In his writing, Paul draws on his work and life experiences along with a fertile imagination, which he attributes to countless hours spent listening to old-time radio shows.
