Jairo Buitrago es un reconocido y galardonado autor de libros para niños y jóvenes. Jairo vive en Ciudad de México. Rafael Yockteng ha ilustrado muchos libros para niños que han recibido importantes reconocimientos, entre ellos Sopa de frijoles/Bean Soup (USBBY Outstanding International Books /US IBBY Libros Internacionales Sobresalientes). Rafael vive en Bogotá. Jairo Buitriago y Rafael Yockteng, han colaborado juntos en muchos libros álbum, incluyendo Jimmy the Greates! (six starred reviews) Two White Rabbits (three starred reviews), Walk with me (three starred reviews, finalista del premio Kirkus) y Lion and Mouse (two starred reviews).
