Johann Gottlieb Fichte wurde 1762 in Rammenau geboren und starb 1814 in Berlin. Er wuchs in ärmlichen Verhältnissen auf. Sein Studium der Theologie finanzierte er größtenteils als Hauslehrer. 1790 kam er mit den Schriften Immanuel Kants in Kontakt, die seine "Wissenschaftslehre" strak beeinflussten. Kants Einfluss war so groß, dass man Fichtes Buch "Critik aller Offenbarung" für ein Kant Werk hielt.
