Bachelorarbeit aus dem Jahr 2012 im Fachbereich Gesundheit - Sport - Sportökonomie, Sportmanagement, Note: 1,3, Deutsche Sporthochschule Köln (Institut für Kognitions- und Sportspielforschung), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: The optimal physical and tactical preparation of professional football teams has become an indispensable part of the professional game, especially due to the increased physical demands of match-play. The monitoring of players work rate profiles during competition is now feasible through computer-aided motion analysis. During the last season an inimitable project was initiated in professional football in Germany. All games were captured with a live tracking-system. The German Soccer League initializes the project and allowed all teams to participate using the data from the players. Formerly only a few teams had the possibility to use tracking-data. But how do the teams use the data in practice? Currently there are only a few empirical investigations on this topicand it remains unclear how the data are used in practice. Therefore, the present study attemps to explore the role of tracking-data in professional football teams in Germany. We administered questionnaires to a representative of all teams in the Bundesliga and second Bundesliga to gather information on how the tracking-data is used in their clubs and on their opinion concerning tracking. In general the pattern of results suggests that every club uses the tracking-data in different ways. Primarily they use it to analyze the performance of their own team and to analyze opposing teams. The results also indicate that some teams incorporate the tracking data in the conceptualization and planning of training sessions. For most of the clubs the use of tracking-data involves a new field and so they do not have enough experts who can work in an adequate way with the data or they just haven't enough time for it. In conclusion, tracking-data has established itself in professional football inGermany although the clubs do not use its full potential at the moment.
