Ein aberwitziges Vampirbuch, an dem Kinder wie auch Erwachsene ihre Freude haben werden. Für Spannung ist gesorgt, aber immer wenn es zu gruselig zu werden droht, gibt es etwas zu lachen. Valentin ist eine liebenswerte Figur und man darf gespannt sein, wie seine Geschichte endet, was mit dem hässlichen Diener Igon geschieht, mit dem neidischen Bruder Vernon und mit Familienoberhaupt Viktor, den die Bevölkerung gerne stürzen möchte. Abgesehen davon, dass das Buch ruhig länger hätte sein dürfen und am Ende alles etwas gar zu schnell geht, eine einwandfreie Lektüre.
