Ishi Khosla is a practising clinical nutritionist, consultant, writer, researcher and an entrepreneur. She is actively involved in clinical practice at the Centre for Dietary Counseling in Delhi, where she deals with a wide range of nutrition-related health problems including obesity, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, gastrointestinal problems, allergies, etc. She has recently developed the first fully Web-based weight-management programme in India: www.theweightmonitor.com. Passionate about nutrition and a strong believer in the power of foods, she has spearheaded a path-breaking health food company, Whole Foods India, which produces health foods and operates health cafes. She is a consultant to several organizations and is also a board member of Lady Irwin College, University of Delhi. She lectures extensively, is invited frequently to radio and television programmes and also contributes regularly to some of the country's most respected publications. She has written two other books, most recently Is Wheat Killing You?, also published by Penguin Books. As part of her commitment towards community nutrition and public health, Ms Khosla founded the Celiac Society for Delhi, the first of its kind in India, to spread awareness about coeliac disease, a condition caused by gluten intolerance. She has been conferred with several awards and recognitions in her field and has also been listed among the twenty-five most powerful women in the country by the India Today Group.
