The main objective of the game of rugby is to place a ball on the ground,across the goalline in order to make a try.A given team strives to gain possession of the ball through challenging contests such as scrums,lineouts,mauls,kickoffs and open play siuations.These recquire strength,endurance,power and speed.This is possible when rugby players eat a ballanced diet and use dietary supplements.Dietary supplements are legal ergogenic aids aimed at enhancing performance yet it is not known whether Kenya rugby players utilize them or not.This book attempts to establish demograohic characteristics,determines the extent of knowledge and establish consumption levels of the players.The study investigated the age,level of education,occupaton,experience and club affilliation.The researcher targets teams that participated in the Kenya Cup League of the 2006 season.It gives an insight into the nutrition status of teams at school level and tertiary institutions.Based on the findings,the study recommended that clinics,courses and seminars be organised for teachers an coaches to guide players on the right dietary habits.
