The book was based on the results of two surveys carried out in hospital environments in 2018 in the southern region of Brazil, involving nursing workers and their perception of the health technologies used during the work process and the evaluation of the patient safety culture in surgical centres. The main results of the first study were that the concept of health technology is linked to the use of equipment and machines, and that the term health technology is far from an ideal understanding by nursing workers. The second study looked at patient safety culture in operating theatres and assessed patient safety culture in operating theatres. The results made it possible to diagnose professionals' attitudes towards safety culture. Finally, it is hoped that the results of the research presented can motivate other professionals to continue studying and researching the themes presented in the book, with other methodological approaches and different care spaces, always with the aim ofpromoting patient safety.
