The introduction and diffusion of Ponseti Method for clubfoot treatment is discussed in this book. Ponseti Method was developed in Iowa, and is a specific manner to manipulate the feet and apply long leg casts, completed by a percutaneous tenotomy and use of an abduction brace to prevent relapses. This was different from traditional clubfoot treatment from 2 decades ago, with extensive surgery. Diffusion of Ponseti Method is described chronologically, with extension of the indications of treatment for syndromic, neurologic and older children. From the first International Symposium in 2003 to the educational program "Ponseti Brasil" for training doctors, Internet, parents advocacy and medical literature also influenced Ponseti Method diffusion. Diffusion of Ponseti Method is considered in expansion phase and its discussion can help in the incorporation of this technology into the Brazilian National Health System.
