Research focus today, is moving towards the development of Software Defined Radio (SDR), a hand-held device capable of accessing any kind of wireless infra-structure. Major milestone in the realization of true SDR is the development of efficient baseband processing block. This book is not only an introduction to digital baseband processors for SDR but also a handbook for a novel and robust radio prototyping platform. It gives the insight of a complete hardware design of a wireless standard in a reconfigurable environment. It takes you through system design to different development steps and finally makes a picture of a new coarse grained FPGA fabric as a reconfigurable hardware to incorporate parameterization capabilities of SDR. It also discusses the design parameters of baseband processing blocks to handle computational load of current wireless technologies.
