Professor Jiří Jan is in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Technical University of Brno, Czech Republic, and Head of its Department of Biomedical Engineering. His extensive experience of leading courses in this field started when he was the first to teach digital signal processing in the former Czechoslovakia in 1974. He has published over 200 papers and 8 patents.
