This research work explores the phenomenon of switching from Modern Standard Arabic to Algerian Arabic in classroom. It attempts to find out the reasons that are responsible for middle school pupils switch. It takes Tlemcen middle school pupils as a case study. Miss Lamia Benadla had a magister (master) degree in Sociolinguistics in 2010, and is preparing a PhD in the field. She has been concerned with Educational Sociolinguistics in Arabic settings with focus on the case of Algeria.
