Helen Hughes has loved reading and writing for as long as she can remember. Now as a grownup, she feels so lucky to be able to immerse herself in the world of children’s books and call it a job! As well as books, Helen loves tree-lined roads, sea views, and feeling the sun on her skin. She is based in London, England.   Mel Matthews spent a few years as an amateur jazz musician before deciding to pursue a professional career in art and illustration. Now she creates artwork for children's books from her beach-side studio. When not drawing, she enjoys walking, weightlifting, and playing video games.
