Oral Submucous Fibrosis (OSMF) is an insidious, chronic, resistant disease which may involve the sub mucosa of any part of the oral cavity and may extend up to pharynx and esophagus. Etiology of OSMF is complex even though the actual mechanism is obscure. In 600 B.C., Sushruta, a renowned Indian physician, termed it as "VIDARI" in "Sushruta Samhita". The current protocol for the management of OSMF can be divided into 3 broad groups: surgical, physical and medical treatments. Till date, there is no modality which can be labelled as definitive treatment for Oral Sub mucous Fibrosis. In this book, i will discuss about the Diode Laser fibrotomy for Oral Sub mucous Fibrosis patients. It's a prospective clinical study.
