Cotton Mather (1663-1728) served as a pastor at the historic Old North Church in Boston for more than forty years. He was a passionate preacher, prodigious scholar, and prolific writer-penning more than 450 titles. In addition to his pastoral labors, Mather was also a statesman and philanthropist.
