Professore e laureato in Educazione dei bisogni speciali presso l'Università di Addis Abeba. Nel 2008 ha ricevuto il prestigioso premio internazionale Medaglia dell'UNESCO Jan Amos Comenius. È anche beneficiario del Georg Forster Research Fellowship Award, 2020-2021, dell'Università Ludwig Maximillian di Monaco (affiliazione) attraverso la Fondazione Alexander von Humboldt.
