"Discover the Land of Israel - Volume Two" with Yossi Maimon. As you read the pages of this book, think of yourself on tour with Maimon, who is an Israeli tour guide in the Land of Israel, in Eretz HaKodesh, the Holy Land....Together, you will travel from the Golan Heights in the north of Israel to the Negev in the south. You will stand on the tops of mountains and in the bottoms of valleys looking at the Holy Land that was promised by God to be a Land for the Jewish people. You will journey on the Road Of The Patriarchs from the battlefields of yesterday to modern cities of today so that you can discover the history that happened in each place, maybe hundreds of years apart, that has shaped God's people and their land into who they are today. You will get a feel of what it was like to live with the Patriarchs, the Judges, the Prophets, and the Kings. Accompanying you, to help better understand this history will be the holy writings from Tanach, Talmud, and Midrash....Maimon, the author, has successfully woven these writings into his modern-day tour of the biblical sites in Israel to understand the stories behind the stories.

Autorenporträt
The Author Yossi Maimon was born in divided Jerusalem in 1954. His family lived in the area called "no-mans land," a war zone on the border between Israel and Jordan. When he was three years old, his family moved deeper into the "safe" land, away from the constant attacks of the Jordanian Army. Yossi was privileged to be one of the first Jewish boys to have his Bar Mitzvah in the new courtyard of the Kotel following the 1967 Six Day War, which unified Jerusalem. Yossi received his education in the Jerusalem school system and joined the army two months before the 1973 Yom Kippur War. He served as a tank commander during his military service. In 1984, Yossi initiated forming the Yishuv, Maale Levona in the Shomron, where he lives with his family to this day. Yossi describes Maale Levona as "the most beautiful place in Israel." Since 1986, Yossi has been an active tour guide in Israel, licensed by the Israel Tourism Ministry. As a specialist in Judaic and Middle Eastern Studies, he believes that visitors to Eretz Yisrael, the Land of Israel, will come away with a love and better appreciation of the Holy Land when they understand, not only what is happening in the Land today, but the events that happened on this very same ground throughout history as they are documented in the Bible. Yossi's knowledge of the stories behind the stories that he has gained from his studies and research of the biblical sources provides the basis for this book series, "Discover The Land Of Israel: A Guided Tour In Biblical Israel With Talmud And Midrash." Since the publication of volume one of this book, readers have gained a new perspective on Biblical Israel. They have requested more stories to help them further understand the background events that support the rebirth of the Jewish homeland, which are now included here in volume two of this series.
