The right to move was recognized globally over a half century ago with the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The Declaration states in Article 13 that "Everyone has the right to freedom of movement and residence within the borders of each state" and "Everyone has the right to leave any country, including his own, and to return to his country". For Bangladesh perspective it is to be said that 'Bangladesh is on the move both internally and internationally.' Due to the increasing trend of both internal and international migration in Bangladesh, unfold of the driving factors between these two types of migration is of immense importance. Using panel data, the study attempts to estimate an optimal function to differentiate between migrant sending households and non-migrant households through Discriminant Analysis. The binary logistic regression models and poisson regression models were also developed to identify the determinants of both internal and international migration.
