Irving L. Finkel, Assistant Keeper in the Department of the Ancient Near East of the British Museum, has published many important editions and studies of previously unknown tablets from the British Museum, and is an acknowledged expert on cuneiform literature and the history of board games. Markham J. Geller, Professor of Semitic Languages at University College London, has worked extensively on Sumerian, Akkadian, and Aramaic magic and medical literature.
