PHIL AND SANDY HAMMAN are the authors of the bestselling true crime memoir Gitchie Girl: The Survivor's Inside Story. The Hammans were born and raised in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the hub of the Gitchie Manitou mass murders. Phil knew all of the victims of the Gitchie crimes personally. The Hammans' style has been to write on-the-edge true crime accounts. Previous works include Rap Sheet, which they co-authored, and Phil penned his memoirs Under the Influence and disOrder. The Hammans have been married since 1984 and live in Sioux City, Iowa, where they both have been long-time teachers. Phil and Sandy are blessed with two children and four grandchildren. The Hammans are popular speakers, addressing educational, church, and literary groups.
