It consists of an integrative review that sought legislation published between the period 1996 and 2020 in the official legislative bodies of Brazil, and published research. It is concluded that it is relevant to understand that the legislation has been adapting to the time that education has been evolving and needing to be adequate, example of this is the adaptation of EaD education for its diffusion and expansion of education in Brazil and to achieve the fulfillment of the goals of education in the country through the goals programmed and agreed in the National Education Plan.
