Through these writings, my hope is to open the eyes of the readers to these experiences and challenge the thought process that each of us can identify with the distractions we all face within relationships and situations in life.

What could I say about myself as an aspiring writer? I, Allisha Marie Minor, a dedicated mother who strives to teach her daughter that there are no limits to what you can accomplish for yourself. Since the age of 8 years old, I have been writing poems that initially started off as a rap in the formulation of a poem. It wasnt until high school where I developed a passion for writing and entered many contests. I had my first poem published on the front cover of a newspaper in high school. Also, a few publications of my poetry in books and on poetry.com between high school and undergraduate school. I can attribute the creation of my writing to many of my personal experiences as well as my experiences in graduate school for Marriage & Family Therapy. I hope to continue to challenge myself to push beyond the creative level I have set for myself thus far.
