This book discusses the real life data transfer and placement needs of one of the largest physics experiments in the world. It inheres the theoretical studies of the underlying problem and presents the evolution of the constraint-based solving model. Practical part consists of the architecture design, measurements and performance evaluation of the automated planning system. Derived techniques from data transfers were applied also in the eld of robotics and are discussed in the appendix.
