In recent decades African immigrants have become one of the fastest-growing immigrant groups in the United States. Although these immigrants are racially and ethnically diverse, surprisingly few studies have examined how these differences affect the ways in which they become American. This book is the first to highlight the role of race and ethnicity, Arab ethnicity in particular, in shaping the incorporation experiences of African immigrants.
