The book discusses about the various tools and techniques used for identification of bacterial phytopathogens. It comprises of a combination of primitive and modern methods that can be used as a handbook for researchers working in the area of microbiology, plant pathology and agriculture.An elaborate review of wilt causing bacterial species has been done.The methodologies adopted in identifying the wilt pathogens from diverse range of crops and weeds comprises of classical methods like colony morphology and biochemical tests as well as molecular methods like PCR, sequencing of 16s rRNA gene and use of phylogenetic tools. The results offer an in depth case study of the samples from West Bengal, India.
