Among all the insects, Moths also play important role as herbivores during the larval stage, as pollinators and parasitoids throughout their life cycle. The present study was conducted on moth species of Lepidoptera in the Mitana village of Morbi district, Gujarat. In this study a total of 24 species of Moth (Lepidoptera) are belonging to 21 genera and 8 families (such as Sphingidae, Geometridae, Noctuidae, Erebidae, Arctiidae, Arctiini, Crambidae and Saturniidae) were observed in three different habitat of Farm (Site - 1), Dam (Site - 2) and Village locality (Site - 3). The Noctuidae family species were high abundant in all site (06 species), followed by Geometridae (05 Species), Sphingidae (04 species), Erebidae (03 species), Arctiidae (02 species), Crambidae (02 species),Arctiini (01 species), Saturniidae (01 species). Conservation of the natural habitats is very essential for the existence of many species of lepidopteron. The biodiversity (diversity index, species richness and evenness) of moth fauna in Farm is mainly due to the rich vegetation in this particular site as vegetation plays an important role for the existence of insect fauna.
