This study was aimed to investigate the genetic diversity of circulating species of Mycobacterium in TB patients and cattle population along with possibility of transmission of TB bacteria from infected animals to human through the consumption of raw milk. Total confirmed n=25 AFB positive samples of tuberculosis were collected from those patients that, had agricultural background. In this study two types of samples were collected, that were of those patients who were suspecting TB for the first time and Reoccurrence. This study speculates that in clinical isolates of tuberculosis in Pakistan there are certain species other than M.tuberculosis and M. bovis are circulating. Distinctive considerations should be given to identify exact circulating causative agent of tuberculosis prior to treatment, to control the TB burden in Pakistan.
