Anna E. Lightfoot-Ward, Ph.D., has always been deeply rooted in her faith and education. Raised in a religious household, her spiritual upbringing played a significant role in shaping her values and ideals. Dr. Lightfoot-Ward's educational journey began at Florida International University, where she completed her Bachelor's and Master's degrees. Her passion for learning led her to International Seminary, where she earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree.Throughout her life, Dr. Lightfoot-Ward has consistently demonstrated a strong sense of community and civic duty. This commitment has been evident in her various roles, such as her time on the El Portal Village Council, where she served as Councilwoman and Mayor from 1994 to 1996. During her tenure, she focused on budget management, infrastructure improvements, and professionalizing the council's operations, all while fostering an atmosphere of decorum and respect.Dr. Lightfoot-Ward's dedication to public service extends beyond her local community. As a United States Army veteran, she has displayed an unwavering commitment to her country. Her extensive educational background, including a Master's Degree in Public Administration, has equipped her with the skills necessary for effective city management. Between 1982 and 2002, Dr. Lightfoot-Ward held positions as assistant and deputy city manager in five medium and small cities. Additionally, she has shared her expertise as an adjunct professor at Miami Dade Community College.A proud mother of three successful adult children and the loving wife of Dwight S.
