Charlie Damitz's love of the sea grew, when as a child, he spent summers at the Jersey shore. A veterinarian by trade, he has always had a deep love for animals. When his children were small, they would often say "Tell me a story," and at his wife's suggestion began writing them down. Other books by Charlie include The Giant Egg, and The Shot Not Heard Around the World. Charlie recently retired and moved to Sarasota with his wife of 50 years Susanne. He has 3 children and 8 grandchildren.
