The Book of Ezra is surrounded with numerous contrasting views ranging from conservative, liberal, critical, the sceptic, and the feminist. The focal point of divergence is Ezra 10 where a command is issued to send away foreign women and their children. Divorce or Reform? submits that each of the above approached has flaws and argues that the message of Ezra and the entire EN volume is a narrative of reform-exposing a community that is endeavoring to recommit themselves to their covenant relationship with God. This work is indebted to P. W. Williamson whose touch on the narrative features in Ezra gives shape to the discovery that EN is pivoted to hope embedded in the divine covenant. Ezra 10 is not about divorce. It is about covenantal reform inspired by the hope that spans the entire Old Testament.
