Created for the reminiscent reader, the Do You Remember...? Series takes you back to the good ol' days. Share in the history of beloved icons and learn more about their rise to fame and the times in which they lived. This is the second in the series that began with Do You Remember Elvis Presley. Born Norma Jeane Mortenson, Marylin Monroe was an American model, actress and icon. Discovered while working in a factory during WWII she soon began a successful career as a pin-up model. By the early 50s she was on her way to a successful movie career as both a comedic and dramatic actor. In 1953 she was caught up in scandal relating to nude photos she had taken years earlier, but that scandal only seemed to help her career. She co-starred with some of the most famous actors of her day. Her high profile husbands: baseball legend Joe DiMaggio and playwright Arthur Miller, only added to her public persona. From the first cover of Playboy Magazine to her birthday salute to John F. Kennedy, Marilyn Monroe could always steal the show. Yet, this book is so much more than just a recap of an American Icons life. Do You Remember Marilyn Monroe is also a look back at the times in which she lived and America came to know and love the legend.
