Autorenporträt
I grew up on 5 acres in the southeast of Melbourne with a menagerie of pets. Our dogs, Coco & Kelly, were Kelpies - failed farm dogs, but the best of family dogs. There were also ponies, cats, birds, bunnies, cows, and a goat or two on the property at all times. While I've always loved animals, it was the arrival of our adorable little white fluffball (aka Keiko) that led me to where I am today, doing what I love - dogs, photography and travel! People adore their dogs. Indeed, many are completely besotted by them. I'm sure I won't be the only dog lover who's been labelled crazy because of their obsession. But for those of us who are crazy dog lovers, it's a badge we wear with pride. I want my own dogs to have the most amazing life, so we can look back knowing they've enjoyed it to the fullest. And I know from the many dog lovers I've met that they want the same. As you might guess, given that I'm a professional dog photographer, my second love is photography. Why do I choose dogs as my models? It's a heart-melting, adorable, LOVE thing. Being a dog lover who takes photographs, empathy makes all the difference. My passion is sharing the unconditional love dogs offer us, and my aim is to record that special 'something' that makes each dog unique. In 12 years as a professional dog photographer, I've been awarded both nationally and internationally. This includes the Australian Pet & Animal Photographer of the Year award and attaining the title of Master of Photography. I won these awards with photos taken for my clients - dog lovers just like you! You know that feeling when you see a beautiful sunset and wish those you love most were there to share it? Or when you visit a wide sandy beach and feel a little sad because you know how much your dog would adore running across it? When hubby Sam and I travel, we always try to do so with our dogs, precisely because sharing in their pleasure adds to our joy of the travel experience. While we're travelling, we always plan for our dogs to be with us. And as a photographer, I'm always on the lookout for incredible and unique dog-friendly settings for photos with my dogs.
