Despite the Indonesian Government s commitment to the elimination of all forms of violence, non- government organizations have found an increasing incidence of domestic violence throughout the country. This book therefore is to understand the lived experiences of women survivors of domestic violence and to explore the potential application of a specific counselling approach, namely logotherapy. The results have implications for the Government of Indonesia to acknowledge the severe impact of systematic discrimination against women. Other implications of the study are for community members, including religious leaders, to deliver moral teachings based on correct interpretations of religious teachings and sound knowledge of gender equity. The personal assistance that provide caring and insight to discover meaning in any life circumstances, including violence, has proved to be potentially applicable for women in order to live more meaningfully.
