The purpose for writing this book is to reveal the churches, organizations, and individuals that view domestic violence as an important issue in today's society. They are not only providing victims of abuse with information and resources, but also offer emotional and spiritual support. Dr. Peach Payne holds a B.A. degree from Purdue University, Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from McDaniel College, and a Doctorate of Ministry and Missions degree from University of Family Bible, Institute, College, and Seminary in Maryland. She was licensed to the work of the Counseling Ministry and ordained as a Christian Educational Specialist. Dr. Payne is also a Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor and a Professional Clinical member of the National Christian Counselors Association (NCCA) in Sarasota, Florida. Dr. Payne is presently a member of a multicultural church in Maryland where she has developed a ministry to provide support for those experiencing domestic violence. She is a member of the Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence, and each year attends informational meetings given by The Interfaith Domestic Violence Coalition of Maryland. In May of 2011, she presented a paper on the topic of domestic violence at the Peace and Safety in the Christian Home conference in Abbotsford, BC.
