Marcelo Velasco ist Jurist bei den Gerichten der Republik. Er ist Mitglied des ecuadorianischen Forschungsnetzwerks (Grupo de PhD Network del Ecuador), ist Mitglied des ecuadorianischen Schriftstellernetzwerks und schreibt Bücher für Editorial Académica Española. Er hat El delito de asesinato en Ecuador: análisis jurídico social (2016) veröffentlicht.
