Don Troiani is well known for his extremely accurate historical and military paintings, scenes of great characters and grand action that defined the American Civil War. An expert researcher with an extensive library and impressive collections of artifacts, Don launched his lifelong career painting Civil War soldiers and battles and he has a special passion for the Gettysburg battles. His first book with Stackpole in 1995 was the highly successful Don Troiani's Civil War (70,000 copies). His ten titles published over the last 25 years and still in print have sold 200,000 copies. Tom Huntington is the author of Searching for George Gordon Meade: The Forgotten Victor of Gettysburg, as well as Guide to Gettysburg Battlefield Monuments, Pennsylvania Civil War Trails, and Ben Franklin's Philadelphia. He is also the former editor of American History and Historic Traveler magazines, and his writing has appeared in many publications, including Smithsonian, Air & Space, American Heritage, British Heritage, and Yankee. He lives in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, not far from Gettysburg.
