ALTER-EGO CHARACTERS AND STAGING... As a director and researcher in the field of theater, I have always been fascinated by the problem of staging in a very specific context: that of alter ego characters. These characters, which in my definition are characterized by an extraordinary dramaturgical and contextual autonomy and by a particularly close relationship with the actors who create them, pose very particular challenges to staging. To try to respond to these challenges, I conceived a project that involved the creation of a character-alter ego, its development, and the subsequent creation of a show, in which the possibilities, limits and problems of a director's action in such a context were tested. From this experience, it was possible to draw arguments in favor of a vision of contemporary theatrical creation based on co-authorship, as theater and performance merge and actors increasingly claim to be the "owners" of their creations on stage.
