Maxine Sue Feller was born and educated in New York City; she recieved her B. A. from Brooklyn College, and her Mrs. when she married Irving Feller. When the couple moved to California she served as an Ombudsman for the Department of Aging in San Diego. The National League of American Pen Women presented her with a Certificate of Membership in Letters in 2004.The Los Angeles Times recommended her autobiography, "Don't Call Me Mama" as "a good summer read". Maxine examines her life experiences, and shares her hard-won insights with her many readers.
