In "Don't Give Up, Give In", Carol recounts her decade-long battle with debilitating depression and nervous system collapse, and what it took and meant for her to rise again from the ashes of her losses. Carol grew up a gifted and strong child. But when she left to pursue an ambitious university degree in adulthood, she experienced an aggravated sexual assault and other abuse that devastated what she knew about herself and the world. This completely changed her identity and the course of the rest of her life. Her book is a short memoir of having to overcome the will to give up, again and again, and her journey through to healing and finding a new mode of being that brings joy, motivation, and open-heartedness back to her life. A journey that ultimately led her to experiencing a level of abundance, meaning, and freedom she never could have known otherwise. Travel with her as she takes you from the cracked shell of an old life in Toronto and Quebec, to the mountains and forests of British Columbia to begin a new one. Dive into the sacred lessons she gained by following her heart into a deep spiritual surrender that took place over a year while travelling a special corner of Australia. Open to the love she discovered that saved her, moment by moment, and brought her firmly rooting back into a life of deep self-acceptance, beauty, peace and bliss. Her story is about finding the courage to keep going, and an ode to seeing suffering as a bridge to our true self. Carol's experience inspires us to change our relationship to our ails. It's a reminder that it's okay to give in. It's strong. It's beautiful. It's you.
