"Don't Let Me Die Here" is the continuation from the book 'Life with an Angel' in which Joe Anderson tells his story of growing up in Indiana in the 60's. In this prolongation Joe has graduated from High School, joins the Marines and goes to Vietnam...There Joe is spiritually guided by an Angel in which he learns what it's like to be in Heaven, views an out of body experience, finds love and is saved by the enemy. Although this is a work of fiction the reader will learn some of the factual combat experiences of the author and actual pictures taken while there, (+=Author's actual experiences). Johnson was raised in Indiana and served 31 years as a police officer with the Beech Grove Police Department in central Indiana; he retired as the Chief of Police. Prior to that he was in the Marines and fought as a combat veteran in the Vietnam War, for which was an inspiration and experience for the writing of this novel "Don't Let Me Die Here." Others that have been an inspiration to him are his parents, his wife and family - and Father Vincent Capodanno, who he met while serving in Vietnam. He and his wife, Vicki, have four grown children and 12 grandchildren, to whom this book is dedicated.
