"Don't Take It Personal (Just One of Dem Days)" is a song by American R&B singer Monica. It was written by producer Dallas Austin, Willie James Baker,Daryl Simmons and rap stars LL Cool Jand Chuck D for her debut studio album, Miss Thang (1995). It uses a sample of LL Cool J's "Back Seat (Of My Jeep)"And Public Enemy's "Bring The Noise".It also features elements from "You're Getting a Little too Smart" by The Detroit Emeralds. She was only fourteen years old when she recorded the song. The song was released as the album's lead single in early 1995 (see 1995 in music), and certified platinum by the RIAA. It spent two weeks at number-one on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B Songs chart, and peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100, and the top ten in Australia and New Zealand. "Don't Take It Personal", alongside follow-up single "Before You Walk Out of My Life," would make the singer the youngest recording artist to have two consecutive number-one hits on Billboard's R&B chart at theage of fourteen.
