Have you ever wondered what a dog was thinking? Sure, we know how to easily read some of their body language clues such as a wagging tail or jumping for joy. They also know how to communicate through sounds and posture many of the same emotions we, as humans, experience. In this book you will meet Rooney, a real dog, who tells her story and thoughts in the form of simple rhyming sentences and pictures! Even though she is very smart, she is still a dog, after all, and simple rhymes are to be expected. This book is the first in a series which will explore the world through her eyes. You, the reader, will be in attendance from her earlist days to the moment the title of this book becomes obvious. In the books that will follow you will come along as she grows and learns even more about her world. I, as her Mum, think Rooney is very special and is the smartest, cutest, and sweetest dog that ever has lived. Of course, all loving doggie moms feel exactly the same way about their furry babies. She does have an annoying habit, though, and you will discover what that is as you continue your journey with Rooney, the Doodle on a Noodle. So put away your cares for a bit, no matter your age. Follow along and find out what this goldendoodle is thinking as she learns about her world.
Autorenporträt
For years my friends have been telling me to write a book. I would laugh it off but in the past few years I have been thinking about time and how quickly it goes by. I have suffered the loss of loved ones who left us too soon. I miss them still because once someone has a place in your heart, they stay there. Even time, the "Great Changer" cannot totally fill those holes left by their absence. That being said, the whole idea of the "bucket list" suddenly became important to me. Writing and finishing a book became the second item on my list. I took care of the first entry on my list when I signed up to be a volunteer a few years ago. Since I retired, the gift of my time to help others, even in a very small way, was my top priority. I had no intention to write this type of book even though I often entertained family and friends with little rhyming songs or rhyming silly verses in cards. It's just a gift I was given that often brought a smile to others. I'm sure my family wishes I had been given the gift of being a great cook, instead, but it was not to be. When I saw Rooney as a pup, it was love at first sight. I began to teach her about her world the day after she came home. Every day I would expose her to new sights and sounds. I began to teach her, as the former teacher and forever mom in me is never to be denied. I would take my cell phone with me and snap pictures of her being cute. (My son once saw all of the pictures of Rooney on my phone and wondered why I only had two pictures of my boys and tons of Rooney! I smiled sheepishly. ) Soon little rhyming captions came to mind as I viewed my photos. It was then I decided to write a book about Rooney's adventures. Now, I have to apologize for my pictures as being a photographer isn't one of my talents. I have to thank my fiancé, Ron, for making them as good as they could ever possibly be. Rooney is an amazing dog. I hope you enjoy reading about her adventures. If you were blessed with the gift of loving dogs, I don't need to say more. You understand. Their love, loyalty and faith in human beings are one of life's greatest blessings.
